Trampled in Tennessee last week, Kansas City (6-4) is on the road for a second straight game. QB Patrick Mahomes returned and did everything he could with 446 pass yards and three TD. Defense, which gave up 225 rushing yards, shoulders most of the blame for the Chiefs’ 35-32 loss to the Titans, who where averaging just 21 points per game.

Philip Rivers had a game to forget, as he threw three interceptions and was sacked five times. Chargers vs. Chiefs Recent History Favors Kansas City
It’s been lopsided recently, as Kansas City is 9-1 straight up and 7-3 against the spread over the last 10 games in this series. In the two meetings last season, the Chiefs won and covered 38-28 on the road in Week 1 as Los Angeles couldn’t stop Mahomes and Tyreek Hill. The Bolts snapped a nine-game losing skid with a 29-28 Week 15 upset win in Kansas City.
Chiefs vs Chargers Final Thoughts and Pick
After the Chiefs vs. Rams game in Mexico was cancelled last season due to poor field conditions, the entire playing surface at Aztec Stadium was replaced. There haven’t been any concerts at the stadium recently, the last soccer game was two weeks ago and the field looks fantastic. Expect this to be the highest-scoring game of the week.
Riddled with injuries in their secondary, Los Angeles is going to have a tough time stopping Hill, Sammy Watkins and Travis Kelce. The weak KC run defense is up against Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler, but the Chargers are dealing with O-Line injuries so they, along with Rivers, may struggle some. Back the Chiefs to cover the short price.NFL picks: Predictions for Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers | Monday Night Football, Week 11

Matt Lombardo: The AFC West is suddenly becoming the most competitive division in football, partly because the Chiefs haven’t looked like that dominant bunch that stormed to the conference title game last season and took the Patriots to overtime. Los Angeles was thumped by Oakland last week, and while it’s never a great idea to bet against Philip Rivers, look for Patrick Mahomes to remind the world why he was the MVP last season. This could be a shootout. Chiefs 38, Chargers 34.
Zack Rosenblatt: The Chargers are the sort of team that could randomly pull an upset, but if Patrick Mahomes can round into form, that’s not going to happen here. Chiefs 35, Chargers 31.
Darryl Slater: Patrick Mahomes returned last week … and the Chiefs lost to the Titans. Weird league. Fortunately for the Chiefs, the Chargers are a bad team ravaged by injuries. Chiefs 42, Chargers 20.
Matthew Stypulkoski: Boy, the Chargers stink, huh? The Chiefs are in a totally separate class. This should be a relatively straightforward one for KC to get through. Chiefs 31, Chargers 20.
Mike Kaye: The Chargers’ Week 10 loss to the Raiders essentially sank their playoff chances. The Chiefs are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Titans. This will be an angry Kansas City squad going up against a Los Angeles team with little home-field advantage. Chiefs 30, Chargers 21.
Joe Giglio: Patrick Mahomes won’t let this team have a second straight melt down. Chiefs 27, Chargers 23.
